In my honest and whole opinion, Killing Floor requires much more teamwork than Left 4 Dead.

* With all the perks and difficulties of the game, along with the variations in specimens coming around any corner, teamwork is essential to main gameplay.

* The map design is pretty much PERFECT for teamwork.

* If you are playing any difficulty above Normal, (Hard and Suicidal) Teamwork is A MUST.

* For example with the perks, your a support specialist and you have a Hunting Shotgun. A Husk appears from the distance, charging it's firey blast about to fuck yo ass nigga'. Your gonna' want to have a Sharpshooter there with a Crossbow.

* Even Normal requires teamwork! Fighting the Patriarch on Normal, a single rocket blast will kill you if you have 100 HP.

No. you can survive waves all alone aswell, depends on your skills.
In l4d, when a hunter pounces you, you NEED a mate.

If you've got 5 Scrakes, and 3 Fleshpounds coming towards you on Suicidal, your gonna' need a mate.

If you're really skilled or use bugs/glitches on map or whatever you can make it

Left 4 Dead's co-op is almost a bit of a cop out, in terms of forcibly putting you in a position where you need a friend. It doesn't take a great deal of effort to tailor the game around teamwork if they remove all possible control of your character when pounced, grabbed etc. (Save for the Jockey). Having said that, even without such loss of control, if you're on expert and you're hit with a horde a friend could be of great use.

To be honest it's a tough one to judge, having only played Killing Floor for a short time on a low difficulty (as of yet.)

They both require teamwork, Killing Floor possibly more tactically.

I can't really decide. My instincts point towards Killing Floor though.

If you get on a glitch spot on a map a specimen can still get there. KF-Departed is a example of this.

Yes, you can be really skilled. Although when your a Support Specialist, and you've got a Husk out there along with 4 Scrakes coming your way, your gonna' need a Sharpshooter against that Husk so he doesn't cap yo ass nigguh.

Now, in L4D, when you get pounced on, or dragged away, or whatever, that's generally the only thing that requires teamwork in the game. Everything else is possible by yourself. All you really need to clear out a horde on expert is a Auto shotgun. Tanks are easy to avoid (Especially in L4D2. In L4D2, Tanks are wussies.) and Witches are even easier to kill. The only SI that's a pain to kill by itself is a Jockey.
